In this role, you’ll acquire, clean, and analyze large data sets and do exploratory analysis to understand our data and check if it meets project requirements. Moreover, you’ll be developing data products to make predictions and recommendations within ADP products. ADP Labs located in Porto Alegre, Brazil, provides software development and infrastructure for world-wide ADP products, working with large-scale initiatives across multiple geographies, including Brazil, the United States, and India. As an internationally distributed software development team, we are hiring a Lead Data Scientist for the ADP SBS team.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Here’s what you can expect on a typical day:

  • Advanced Analytics & Predictive Modeling.You formulate analytical problems, extract & analyze data from multiple systems, summarize critical findings/insights, and develop a compelling visual representation of analyses with actionable recommendations.
  • Team Collaboration. You’re part of a collaborative team, listening to needs, then finding and sharing solutions. You’re comfortable and skilled at presenting your projects and findings to both peers and leadership. You collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to plan, design, develop and deploy high-impact data products supporting multiple products across ADP.
  • Research & Development.You design and implement start-of-the-art data products, machine learning models, and systems to optimize the HCM system user experience. You continuously looking for new ways to leverage ADP data to create new products and services and find more insights. You are passionate about learning and applying new techniques within data science that leads to innovations.
  • Deliver at an epic scale. You write pristine code and documentation, champion and define best practices to produce highly adaptive, high-performing, continuous learning AI models/systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

  • Learn about the business and system domain and its data to identify Use Cases as opportunities to use GenAI as the solution for a new customer experience and product features.
  • Define how analytics solution will be constructed: which existing will be integrated, how they will be integrated and what gaps in capability need to be filled.
  • Serves as design authority at a project level by understanding the business goals and technology constraints and designing appropriate solutions that create measurable impact to business.
  • Extract, merge, clean and normalize large-scale data from disparate sources in preparation for exploratory data analysis, model building and validation — within a big data environment.
  • Develop, validate ML classification, regression models using Python or similar to directly answer business needs, and to positively impact business operations.
  • Prepare appropriate data visualizations and presentations to highlight findings and recommendations for both a technical and executive audience.
  • Promote a unified approach leveraging existing data sets and efforts while also ensuring collaboration throughout the organization to ensure adoption and common standard approach.
  • Establish credibility as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders across the enterprise to drive business actions and outcomes based on results of your analysis.
  • Apply good business and financial acumen to create and assess business cases.
  • Implement appropriate mechanisms to track, measure the business impact of your work.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Computer Science.
  • Exceptional analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience building statistical and machine learning models.
  • Experience working with structured, semi-structured and time-series data to build models.
  • Ability to conduct complex analysis, as well as translate the results and findings for executive audience.
  • Interest or experience in LLMs and Generative AI.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative manner.
  • Experience developing ML classification, regression models using Python.
  • Ability to effectively manage time to handle competing high priority projects.
  • Demonstrated experience working within data extraction and consuming data pipelines (SQL).
  • Any experience with Cloud solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure).
