ADP is hiring a Lead Data Scientist with specialization RAG solutions.

In this role, you’ll acquire, clean, and analyze large data sets and do exploratory analysis to understand our data and if it meets project requirements. It’s more than digits and dials – you’re making huge decisions that impact millions of customers.

Every day you’ll work with multiple stakeholders to identify, design, develop and implement advanced analytics projects that track the consumer conversion funnel from start to end. You’ll work with your team to provide, interpret, and predict necessary metrics for decision-making. You’ll code with machine learning tools like Python, Jupyter Notebook and Databricks to synthesize millions of data sets into patterns that answer ad hoc requests and then use Tableau for data visualization.

To thrive in this career, you should know how to identify errors and reactively fix them. You’ll need to have some formal education in quantitative analytics and know design patterns and data structures. You have the skills to create new models using the technologies above. You will coach and mentor junior data scientists with different strengths to solve various problems with different methodologies and analyses. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Here’s what you can expect on a typical day:

• Advanced Analytics & Predictive Modeling. You bring prior experience to the role of formulating analytical problems, extracting & analyzing data from multiple systems, summarizing critical findings/insights, and developing a compelling visual representation of analyses with actionable recommendations–this will set you up for success on Day 1.
• Own and Manage Projects. You will identify, design, develop, and implement advanced analytical projects.
• Limitless Possibilities. You will continue learning and discovering new ways to leverage ADP data to create new products and services and find more insights. You are passionate about learning and applying new techniques within data science that leads to innovations.
• Collaboration and Communication. You’ll be part of a collaborative team, listening to needs, then finding and sharing solutions. You’re comfortable and skilled at presenting to both peers and leadership on your projects and findings.
• You have 5-10 years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

• You’ll have a Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent.
• 5-10 years of related experience with machine learning tools like Python, Jupyter Notebook and Databricks .
• If you have a Master’s or PHD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, predictive analytics or another quantitative field plus 5 years of related experience instead of 10.
• Understanding of RAG architecture and key components: Familiarity with the retrieval model, the generative model, and the interaction between them in generating accurate and informative answers.
• Experience with retrieval algorithms: Knowledge of traditional document embedding techniques like TF-IDF or Word2Vec and LLM based approaches. Understanding of vector and hybrid approaches to retrieve relevant information.
• Proficiency in generative models: Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) like GPT-3 or Llama, fine-tuning techniques for domain adaptation, and prompt design for optimal RAG performance.
• Evaluation and analysis of RAG systems: Ability to measure the performance of RAG systems using metrics like precision, recall, and F1 score, and identify areas for improvement.
• Domain knowledge: Depending on the application, expertise in the specific domain for which the RAG system is being developed will be highly valuable.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and Jupiter Notebooks, building NLU/NLP machine learning models.
• Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, neural networks, deep learning social network analysis, etc.
• Basic understanding of DevOps / CICD frameworks for container deployments (Docker / Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of Amazon and Microsoft cloud service.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
• A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity or commissions. The compensation for this role is $75,600.00 – $202,590.00 / Year
