Job Description

ICE Data Services, Pricing and Reference Data provides an extensive range of financial market data services and analytics to thousands of customers worldwide, including banks, brokerage firms, mutual funds companies, ETF sponsors, hedge funds, pension funds, insurance companies and asset management firms.

ICE Data Services is seeking a Java Developer to build out pricing and reference data systems for Fixed Income securities. The candidate should demonstrate a combination of front-end and back-end technology skills and domain knowledge in Fixed Income would be desirable.

The candidate will demonstrate the ability to engage stakeholders across Technology, QA, BA and Product Management teams in delivering on key initiatives within the Pricing and Reference Data Business. The developer will critically analyze requirements and propose technical solutions in delivering projects within expected parameters of cost, time and quality. 

The candidate will be expected to be involved in the full life cycle of the systems development from requirement gathering through development and testing to on-going support and maintenance. The position will involve some on-call support outside of regular business hours, nights and weekends.

The working environment is fast-paced, high demand, and closely integrated with business stakeholders. The candidate should be a self-motivated quick learner who thrives on tackling new and varied challenges.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of applied knowledge and experience developing OO solutions using Java 8
  • Solid fundamentals on Object Oriented Design and understanding of advanced data structures
  • Strong experience with relational databases (preferably Oracle) including SQL schema design 
  • Strong experience with design-for-testability and unit-tests 
  • Hands on experience with the Spring stack (Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud & Microservices, Spring Data JPA…)
  • Experience and knowledge of real time data analytics and cloud technologies e.g. Spark Streaming, Kafka, Snowflake Data Cloud, AWS S3
  • Perl, Python, Shell or similar scripting language development experience in a Linux based environment
  • Experience with Angular and ReactJS a plus
  • Preference for experience with any of the following - Drools, Flowable BPM, Spark Mllib machine learning methods
  • Knowledge of both Fixed Income and Equity Capital Markets Fundamentals is an advantage
  • Ability to work within both Agile methodology (e.g. Scrum) and Waterfall SDLC framework
  • Ability to document clear and concise technical specifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle priorities across different efforts/projects 
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field of study

Schedule

This role offers work from home flexibility of up to 2 days per week.
