The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia’s Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.

Within Optical Networks Business Division offerings, the 1830PSS Transmission System is a state-of-the-art product that is the core platform for Nokia IP Transport. This system provides leading-edge optical transmission capabilities offering industry-leading data rates (1Tbit/s+), optical reach and bandwidth density with a broad range of service capabilities including Ethernet and OTN. The 1830 PSS product line is deployed in Metro, Regional-reach, Submarine, Data Center Interconnect and Open Line System networks with over 1000 customers worldwide.

What you will learn and contribute to

 Are you passionate about solving problems?

As part of our team, you will:

• Develop testplans and testcases to validate new features for a DWDM transmissison system to achieve best-in-class product quality
• Execute these tests and report bugs, work with architects and developers to resolve these issues and verify the fix
• Develop test automation scripts for these features
• Execute regression testing with various configurations

Your skills and experience

You have:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 4+ years of relevant experience
• Strong academic background in communication and network systems, ideally familiarity with WDM optical transport systems, including OTN and packet transport
• Test Automation skills, preferably Python
• Ability to troubleshoot complex networking scenarios.
• Solid motivation to learn and perform in a fast-paced high technology environment.

It would be nice if you also had:

• Field deployment/operations or lab testing experience with WDM optical transport systems, including OTN and packet transport
• Automation skills, preferably Python
• Fluency in issue tracking SW, i.e. Jira as well as data analysis and visualization tools, i.e. Splunk
