 The candidate will be part of CNS GBC Presales Advanced Consulting Services (ACS) East organization reporting directly into Head of ACS East. The candidate will join as Senior Data Scientist, assisting operators to produce business, customer and network insights on cellular technologies like 5G, 4G, 3G, 2G, CDMA, UMTS and VoLTE among other things using advanced data scientce and analytics techniques.

What you will learn and contribute to

Looking for a senior data scientist with experience in telecom domain to work across netwokr, customer and business domains.

As part of our team, you will:

  • Support consulting deliveries by carrying out data sceince and data analytics driven tasks on Nokia and operator data sources.
  • Tasks include all aspects of Data Science work from data cleanup to developing predictive models, as well as deploying the models to produce valuable insights and articulating that to the customer
  • Build and develop trust-based relationships with operator customer’s middle and senior management in relation to consulting engagement
  • Understand customer’s commercial and operational challenges and apply these understanding when developing models and insights.
  • Provide opportunity leads to sales in order to maximize business value of Nokia solutions to the customer

 Your skills and experience

 Key Sklils:

  • Minimum of engineering or computer science from a reputable institution, MBA a plus
  • 15+ years in the Telecom or IT industry or 10+ years in analytics consulting industry
  • Strong telecom background which includes sound understanding of network technologies, KPIs and data architecture
  • Strong data analytics and data science experience, developing models using various data mining and machine learning algorithms.
  • Application of such data science work in telecom a plus.
  • Strong data manipulation skills using SQL
  • Good understanding of various big data concepts. Working knowledge of Hadoop based environments a plus.
  • Good understanding of Cloud Technologies, Public Cloud, Cloud Stack and Anaytics capabilities of Public Cloud platforms
  • Strong experience with data mining / machine learning platforms and tools like R, Python, RapidMinder, etc.
  • Strong experience with data visualization tools like Excel, Tableau, Business Objects, etc.
  • Strong verbal, written and visual articulation skills using PowerPoint to effectively communicate complex ideas.
  • Ability to work with both technical and management layers in customers
  • Good understanding of customer value modeling using CLTV, Churn and Segmentation models
  • Familiarity with end customer surveys, such as satisfaction surveys and Net Promoter Score measurement
  • Strong academic record with a minimum of Masters in computer science or mathematics from a reputable institution, additional business studies is a plus

You have direct experience of the following areas will be benefiicals :

  • Financial understanding of Telco operations and business case development
  • Technology understanding of Telco functions, including marketing and customer care 
  • Ability to work with both technical and management layers with customers

  • Ability to address and engage with engineers as well as senior executives within operator organization.
  • Committed to deliver the solutions and business benefits sold to the operator
  • Willingness to travel to customer premises
  • Proficient in English (speaking, writing and reporting) as well as at least one of the major languages in the region
  • Good ability to organize own work and self-motivated
  • Team player
  • High tolerance for stress and uncertainty
  • Able to work and manage across multi-national organization
