Digital/ Data Science– Functional Description

As a Technical Manager for data science, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the data science and digital support team at Pratt & Whitney Customer Service India hub. You will participate in identifying and defining the opportunities which drives and brings added value to the customer service organization. You will oversee assignation and governance to maximize the customer service benefits of the digital projects.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of a team of data science experts
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to the team in addition to working on critical digital/data science aspects related to aftermarket and inservice issues data for Pratt & Whitney engines
  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
  • Able to ingest, clean, process and analyze multiple data sources data-at-rest and data-in-motion
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of data set and data gathering techniques.
  • Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
  • Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize delivery assurance, inventory reduction and other business outcomes.
  • Develop testing framework and test model quality.
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
  • Interpret and effectively communicate data insights using data visualization
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.

Qualification / Technnical Experience:

  • Bachelors / Masters degree / MBA with experience in designing and developing solutions using Big data.
  • 10-15 years of data science experience and good analytical skills.
  • Coding knowledge and experience with several languages: Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc.
  • Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages: R, Python, SLQ, Hive SQL, etc.
  • Experience in one of the following libraries: TensorFlow, PySpark.
  • Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
  • Experience with distributed data/computing tools: SAS ViYa, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Jupyter Notebook, Git etc.
  • Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: PowerBI
  • Good understanding of aerospace/aeronautics environments
  • Good understanding of customer service ecosystem (Customer services, aftermarket, MRO, warranty, contracts, etc.)
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working experience of SAP
  • Experience user of the Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience of working under dynamic and uncertain business conditions
