As a Digital Business Rotational Program Associate, you will rotate across product management, campaign activation, and user experience teams. Over two years, you may rotate into focus areas that may include: Internal Search and Personalization, Core Website Development, Cart and Checkout, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), User Experience Design and Research, Direct Marketing, Digital Media, or Site Merchandising. Our teams are fast-paced and responsible for delivering a world-class digital experience that serves millions of customers. You will be challenged with prioritizing innovative ideas; identifying requirements, dependencies, and stakeholders; and facilitating the path to production in order to support our growing business.

This position is a part of the Staples, Inc. hybrid work model, 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Actively participate in the planning, definition, design, testing, implementation, and support of enhancements on the website or digital marketing initiatives and campaigns.
  • Interact with product managers, UX designers, and other cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Quality Assurance, Data Science, or other business units to design and develop innovative solutions that meet business needs to better serve our customers
  • Participate in projects as a member of an Agile/Scrum team, including project estimation, task creation, and drive to complete tasks in each sprint in a timely manner
  • Participate in user research, customer needs assessment, requirements sessions, or story grooming activities, providing the business needs perspective

  • Advance problems toward resolution in order to avoid project derailment - despite potential obstacles, ambiguity, or uncertainty
  • Contribute to documentation where required
  • Adhere to web development and eCommerce standards and best practices, including accessibility
  • Understand, measure, and monitor performance against operational metrics

Qualifications :

Qualifications - External

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • Completion of an alternative training program such as BrainStation, General Assembly, or Resilient Coders; or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business, Marketing, or related fields
  • Candidates, regardless of age, must be recent college graduates, have recently completed a boot camp-style program, or be otherwise entry-level individuals with less than one year of relevant work experience in product management, web design/development, or digital marketing

What’s needed - Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Jira, Monday.com, Trello, or other project management software.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodology
  • Interest in product management and website design and development
  • Basic knowledge of website functionality, HTML, and marketing concepts
  • Ability to convey thoughts and ideas both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Enthusiastic about generating new ideas, approaches, and solutions to complex problems and opportunities.
