Staples’ Data & Analytics team eliminates data silos and unifies customer data across all Staples’ commerce channels. We are currently tasked with creating a single trusted data platform to provide a 360o view of our customer. We will enable customer insights to make effective decisions to target the right customers for acquisition, offer personalized products and services, enable customer growth, and take proactive actions to increase retention through data analytics.

What you’ll be doing:

Lead in the design and development of complex software that processes, stores and serves data for use by others. Designs and develops complex and large scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data to generate insights and addresses reporting needs. Writes complex ETL/ ELTs(Extract / Transform / Load) processes, designs data systems and develops tools for real-time and offline analytic processing. Ensures that data pipelines are scalable, repeatable and secure. Improves data consistency and integrity. Integrates data from a variety of sources, assuring that they adhere to data quality and accessibility standards.

Implements activities that generally impact multiple components / processes and the work of own and possibly other units / teams / projects. Typically assigned to strategic / complex undertakings. Demonstrates proficiency in all areas of the professional function and advanced in-depth specialization in some. Participates in developing technical / business approaches and new or enhanced technical tools. Has advanced knowledge of large scale search applications and building high volume data pipelines. Advanced knowledge of Java/Python, Hadoop, Hive, Snowflake MySQL or NoSQL or similar. Interacts with internal and external peers and management to share highly complex information related to areas of expertise and/or to gain acceptance of new or enhanced technology / business solutions.

Receives work in the form of short- and mid-term outcomes that regularly require the application of independent judgment and creativity. Mentors less experienced members of the team. May lead projects. Work is subject to management review at defined milestones. Operates within the context of defined operating outcomes

Qualifications :

What's needed - Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
• 7 to 10 years’ experience in Big Data technologies
• Expert in Big Data Pipeline Patterns Real-time, Batch processing
• Experience in Cloud Data Platforms (Azure, AWS, Google)
• Experience with Snowflake cloud database
• Strong Python and SQL skills

What's needed - Preferred Qualifications:

• MS in Computer Science
• Experience with Snowflake database
• Experience with Azure Cloud data platform
