Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking (SGCIB) offers highly motivated individuals the opportunity to build exceptional careers in the finance sector. Our Summer Analyst Program offers the opportunity to work within the independent risk management division (RISQ) of Société Générale. RISQ acts as a second line of defense function, both as a partner and as an effective challenger of the business lines to make the best risk management decisions for the business, and to collaborate with all stakeholders to become a premier risk management department. This internship will allow you to acquire knowledge of the banking sector, of our activities and our culture which will allow you to succeed in this innovative sector which offers vast possibilities; it is also the primary route into our full-time analyst program.

You will work closely with one of the following teams: Market Risk (the MRF team oversees business activity related to market risk across different asset classes such as equities, credit and fixed income ) ; Metrics Monitoring Group (MMG monitors, in collaboration with the front office, the trading activity, including profit and loss (P&L) review, risk analysis and exposure monitoring for the various trading desks ) ; Hedge Funds, Prime & CCPs (the HPC team oversees counterparty credit risk for these specific counterparty types); and Model Risk (multiple teams working on independent review and validation of models (e.g. credit, market,

what will be your daily tasks:

Projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Carry out quantitative analyzes on trading risks and P&L (Profit and Loss) data;
  • Develop risk analysis tools and visualization dashboards;
  • Examine machine learning models applied to process automation or market data analysis;
  • Design a framework for the study of ESG factors and financial risks;
  • Support technical solutions for digitizing risk management processes.
  • Check risk assessment requirements and regulations.
