Yelp is looking for a remote leader to join our growing Application Security Engineering team. As the team's Engineering Manager, you will have tremendous impact and a broad scope protecting Yelp's apps, products and services for millions of users around the world.

The Application Security Engineering team is responsible for making sure the Yelp App and services are delivered to our users securely at scale. In addition to finding and fixing code-level vulnerabilities, we're also responsible for providing secure Authentication and Authorization frameworks for mobile apps and web properties, and building custom services for proactive detection and prevention of web and mobile app based attacks. Where You Come In:

• Hire, mentor, and grow a team of Security engineers.
• Help define the long-term roadmap for Application Security and tooling.
• Collaborate with other Yelp teams to help develop mobile apps, websites, APIs and products leveraging secure software development practices.
• Understand the evolving business landscape and product roadmap to anticipate potential risks and strategically align future projects.
• Lead large-scale security incidents.

Your Team Will:

• Collaborate with other engineering teams to improve the security posture of user-facing features while performing threat modeling, security reviews and evangelizing best practices for secure SDLC.
• Own parts of Yelp’s production infrastructure, such as identity management for our users.
• Develop, deploy and maintain services for proactive detection and prevention of software vulnerabilities.

What It Takes to Succeed:

• • Experienced security leader with software development background.
  • Experience working with full-stack and mobile developers.
  • Great product and business insights to shape our Application Security roadmap over the coming years.
  • Ability to participate in 24/7 incident response when necessary.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
