The Data Infrastructure group is essential for enabling our company to efficiently access, process, and analyze the vast amounts of data we generate daily. As a leader in this area, you will oversee the development and scaling of robust, cross-platform data systems and pipelines that power critical functions across our organization, including data science, business operations, and product development. Your teams will be at the heart of decision-making, ensuring the stability and reliability of our data infrastructure.

This opportunity requires you to be located in Germany.

What you'll do:

• Revitalize the Data Infrastructure group by addressing the challenges faced and setting a clear, long-term technical vision for the team.
• Assess and modernize our data infrastructure using cutting-edge technologies and architectures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, Engineering Managers, and their staff to align the group's work with the needs of the organization and build trust.
• Mentor your reporting management team, helping them grow as data leaders while fostering strong relationships with their stakeholders to maximize the potential of our data infrastructure.
• Cultivate the talent within your group, empowering senior data and software engineers to have a broad impact across the engineering organization.

What it takes to succeed:

• People first approach in your previous managerial experience, prioritizing a healthy team culture and leading with empathy.
• Solid understanding of data processing technologies such as: Kafka, Redshift, Flink, Spark.
• Ability to envision data infrastructure at scale, create self-serve data platforms, and operate a data mesh.
• Experience in implementing data governance, quality assurance, and driving these aspects through automation and management processes.
• Hands-on experience driving transformative change in a large organization, while rebuilding trust and fostering a collaborative environment.
