Reporting to the Head of Technology of EA's Quality Verification group, you will take ownership of the AI-driven testing domain and focus on technologies such as bots to play games and ML models that help us enhance the quality of verification processes.

As a leader in the central engineering team, you are expected to continue building on our cultural & technical foundations to help EA create the highest-quality games possible across our entire portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of EA's proprietary bot technology, providing expertise to the teams using the technology and the engineers working with it. You will continue to look for opportunities to improve this technology and how it applies to EA's test automation domain.
  • As a Principal Engineer, you will provide guidance and knowledge sharing to the 200+ SE community in the QV group.
  • You will participate in internal and external events that help share knowledge and promote EA's technical brand in our industry.
  • The AI domain is dynamic and evolves at a rapid pace. You are expected to keep current with industry developments and provide technical and strategic insights to QV's executive and technical leadership groups.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical skills
    • A minimum of 10 years experience with game development — focused on AI
    • Extensive knowledge of C++
    • Foundational knowledge of and experience with ML based systems and techniques
    • Knowledge of game engine architecture and client/server models
  • Soft skills
    • This role requires a great deal of collaboration with teams around EA world, as such, you will need to be collaborative and customer-centric.
    • Given the nature of the technologies involved, we are looking for someone who is curious, has a keen interest in AI, loves to solve hard problems and is passionate about their work.
    • You will work in a distributed team and are expected to work independently towards goals and deliverables.

US Compensation and Benefits

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

Base Salary Ranges

  • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento): $207,950 - $303,100
  • New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo): $193,000 - $303,100
  • Jersey City, NJ: $231,600 - $303,100
  • Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs): $193,000 - $266,050
  • Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane): $193,000 - $296,400

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
