As a Data Science Manager Sr you will work within PNC's Intelligent Automation organization. You will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH, Birmingham, AL or Dallas, TX. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager’s discretion.

As a Center of Excellence (CoE), we work hand in hand with different line of businesses and their technology teams to identify and help deliver high value business opportunities, maintain and enhance AI technologies and capabilities, and bring new AI technologies into the bank.

As a Data Science Manager Sr you will lead a team of data scientists to build high performing machine learning models. Looking for experience with the following: GenerativeAI (GenAI - ChatGPT), Large Language Models (LLM), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Neural Network (NN, CNN), Deep Learning

Job Description

  • Oversees end-to-end analytical projects that leverage vast amounts of structured and unstructured data to extract actionable business insights.
  • Provides leadership, direction and methodology for Data Scientists to create appropriate models and data-driven solutions for the business.
  • Recruits, trains, and develops best-in-class Data Scientists.
  • Works with executive leadership to identify data science project opportunities and assists in planning activities including budget and scope determination.
  • Oversees relationship with Data Architects, Data Analysts, Data Engineers and Visualization Experts to develop data-driven solutions for the business.

  • Query and Database Access Tools – Knowledge of and the ability to use, support and access facilities for extracting and formatting a database management system.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
