Quantitative Analytics Undergraduate Intern

As a PNC Intern, you will participate in a best-in-class internship program and jump start your career at a top U.S. bank. During this 10-week program you will work directly with PNC’s team of quantitative analysts, portfolio managers, and data scientists. You will develop the tools you need to launch a successful career and complement your education with real-world experience.

The Quantitative Analytics Summer Internship Program provides interns the opportunity to experience PNC’s Retail Lending Analytics and Balance Sheet Analytics and Modeling organizations. Both areas contain seasoned quantitative professionals that turn internal and external data into actionable recommendations for portfolio, capital allocation, and risk-based decisions. The groups act as trusted partners to PNC’s lending and credit functions to provide analytical foresight and insight to make effective decisions related to risk appetite, return, profitable growth, portfolio optimization, and strategy. This group has seen tremendous growth recently as PNC has rapidly increased sophistication in modeling and analytics.

As a Quantitative Analytics intern, you will have the opportunity to

  • interact with PNC’s senior management;
  • learn from best-in-class quantitative analysts, portfolio managers, and data scientists; and
  • experience first-hand the tools used to manage a top bank’s balance sheet.

Quantitative Analytics interns will be placed in one of the following areas for the duration of the internship:

  • Consumer and Commercial analytics
  • Portfolio Management
  • Model Development
  • Credit Process Management
  • Data Management

The Quantitative Analytics Summer Internship Program is offered in Pittsburgh, PA, the greater Washington D.C. area, New York City, and Houston, TX

This position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at manager’s discretion.

Job Profile

Participates as an intern in the PNC summer internship program.

  • Performs or assists the core activities of the group by applying knowledge learned to drive business results (e.g. deal, sales, or process support, internal or external customer interaction, or supporting internal projects). Works under supervision and may have limited approval and/or exception authority.
  • Participates in social learning within the organization (e.g. identifies and networks with business representatives and peers, participates in mentoring, job shadowing and community outreach).

Required Education and Experience

  • Preferred business relevant majors (e.g. Finance, Accounting, IT, Economics, Marketing, Math, Statistics, HR, Management, Communications, Business Law, Psychology, Logistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Actuarial Sciences), junior status, Minimum GPA 3.2.
  • Roles at this level are filled by recent university / college graduates with little or no professional experience, but possessing relevant skills. Includes individuals joining the organization through a corporate development/training program.

Roles at this level are filled by recent university / college graduates with little or no professional experience, but possessing relevant skills. Includes individuals joining the organization through a Corporate development/ training program. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

COMPENSATION: $18/HR - $35/HR

Placement within the compensation range is based on the specific role and may vary by geographic location and/or market data.
