The spun-off part of the company (New Health Care Company), the future health care company, focuses on the health market, while 3M continues to expand its market positioning in the areas of safety & industrial, transportation & electronics and consumer. Your contribution to our mutual success

As an engineer (*) in the field of data science manufacturing at the Wuppertal site, you have the opportunity to use your knowledge in a targeted manner to advance our mutual success. Your area of responsibility includes:

  • Independent implementation of projects in the field of data automation and digitization (Industry 4.0)
  • Construction and programming of systems for data automation
  • Support for existing systems in the areas of SCADA and reporting
  • Provision and analysis of production data for plant optimization
  • Development and roll out of digital dashboards & process visualizations
  • Expansion of the areas of predictive analytics & condition monitoring
  • Cross-functional contact person for the internal interfaces in the international network

These are your competencies

The minimum qualifications for this role include:

  • Master's/diploma studies in the field of applied computer science, engineering or automation technology with a focus on production
  • Experience in the planning, management and implementation of complex projects
  • Knowledge of programming languages (preferably Visual Basic, SQL and Python)
  • Experience with data processing and visualization (e.g. PowerBI, Grafana)
  • Excellent communication skills, teamwork, persuasion and assertiveness
  • Good knowledge of German and English

This additional knowledge is an advantage:

  • Knowledge of PI Osisoft (PI Asset Framework, PI Vision) is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of OPC UA and PLC programming S7
  • Basic knowledge of network architectures and server administration is an advantage
  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Interest in working on new technologies and processes in a production-related environment
