We are currently seeking a Data Scientist I with Machine Learning. This position will support a team located in Columbus, OH with a hybrid schedule (combination 1-2 days on-site and partial remote option)

Job Summary

• Applies machine learning methods as directed.
• Review literature to identify appropriate methods to solve a problem, then implement those methods
• Critically evaluate data for quality measures such as completeness, accuracy, and applicability.
• Communicate technical results in a clear, concise, and effective manner with emphasis on data visualization techniques.

   

Responsibilities

• Assists in the interpretation of results and writing of small sections of technical reports/presentations.
• Prepares tables, graphics or software tool components using statistical/biostatistical/machine learning capabilities.
• Organize data for analysis and summarize data for internal and external reports
• Participate in multiple, assigned research projects with time and budget constraints
• Implement methodologies for solving problems with guidance

   

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.
• Proficiency in linear algebra and vector calculus
• Proficiency in python (specifically scikitlearn, pytorch, tensorflow, panda), R, jupyter notebook
• Understanding of Machine learning methods like linear regression, logistic regression, ensemble based classification techniques, support vector machine, clustering, low-dimensional embedding techniques
• Previous experience in sequence models like RNN, LSTM, transformers, variational auto-encoders, large language models (BERT), graph neural nets
• US person for export purposes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in chemoinformatic and bioinformatic pipelines like RDkit and Bioconductor are a plus
• Experience in AlphaFold, AlphaFoldMultimer, Rosetta and other protein folding software are a plus
• Experience in version control (e.g., git)
• Experience in high performance computing or cloud computing
• Experience either as an intern, a research assistant, or an applied project consultant, demonstrating capabilities in data analysis and programming
• Master’s degree in Data Science or related field
