Job Description

This role will support Financial Crime Data and Analytics team efforts in building and implementing a data lake which will promote and facilitate a data-led approach for the identification and disruption of financial crime activities.

Provide strong Business Analysis expertise in an agile frame work environment

  • Work as a liaison among project stakeholders to elicit, analyse, communicate and validate features for new functionality. Serves as the SME for business and functional domain knowledge; working closely with the Product Owner
  • Senior Stakeholder Management
  • Excellent Knowledge of industry/market trends in the AML domain
  • Supports the Project Manager as well as Technical Lead in the inception, epic creation, feature creation as well as Story writing to ensure clear scope and acceptance criteria in line with Agile delivery methodology
  • Create, groom and maintain the project feature and story backlog in addition to any changes to those requirements
  • Participates in joint design sessions to groom and document features and stories
  • Create feature and story backlogs that is clear and straightforward.
  • Assists the Tech Leads with flow diagrams, tables, mock-ups and other methods to ensure features and stories are presented without ambiguity when designing the solution.
  • Analysing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications
  • Improves systems by studying current practices
  • Recommends controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures.
  • Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
  • Knowledge transfer as reference for users by writing and maintaining user documentation
  • Work with Product Owner to decompose features into stories
  • Identify dependencies across applications to support feature decomposition and story definition
  • Adhere to Agile methodology, ensure requirements documentation complies with Agile and audit standards.
  • Adhere to all Barclays, Group centre and compliance technology standards, policies and governance practices.
  • Contributes to and use best practices and standards including Barclays Values & Behaviours.

What will you be doing?

As a Business Analyst, you will have to understand business requirements and also have the ability to translate application/system functionality into functional specifications.

  • Interact with Data Integration team and ensure technical designs are aligning with Business requirements
  • Understand and Publish non-functional requirements associated with Data Platform(Big Data)
  • Can work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience working with colleagues spread across multiple global locations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience/Exposure to SQL, advanced SQL skills

What we’re looking for:

Bachelor’s Degree

  • 6-12 years of experience
  • Working experience of Business Analysis practices within Agile
  • Have knowledge on SQL and Data Analysis Activities
  • Stakeholder management and good communication skills
  • Have knowledge on Data quality/Validation Activities
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to use own initiative to resolve issues/investigate and find solutions.
  • Regular and confident interaction with end-users and customers.
  • Providing support and resolving issues for systems in production.
  • Experience of working with Queries and Data Models
  • Ability to use Excel for data analysis spotting patterns and exceptions in large data sets.

  • Strong data analysis skills and ability to present the findings to the business users.
  • Quick learner; strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deal with numerous tasks simultaneously and with frequently changing priorities.
  • Ability to design, write and execute test cases.
  • Financial background is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate and build relationships with members of the business and technology communities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be independent and creative in approach to problems and issues; assertive, tenacious, proactive
  • Working with the business to determine and document clear and concise business requirements.
  • Working with IT groups to convert requirements into specification.
  • Act as the bridge between the business, IT and other businesses.
  • Development of system operating models and processes.
  • Assisting in the preparation and execution of User Testing including Impact Analysis.
  • Develop and deliver user procedures and training.
  • Provide go-live and post implementation support.
  • Identify/anticipate obstacles and analyse and propose resolutions.
  • Understand impact of proposed changes on business areas and processes.
  • Mentoring junior members of the team.
  • Adopt and evolve the agile approach.
  • Contribute to the long term strategy around R&A architecture.
