Job Description

As a Barclays Prime Solutions Data Scientist, you will join our ePrime Solutions team, which is responsible for the project management of the client on boarding process, and contribute to the expansion of ePrime. The ePrime Solutions team has partnered with the Data Science team to build and deliver an automated electronic pricing solution to Equity and Credit Financing Clients. You will be responsible for coordinating the set-up of clients on the ePrime platform, developing new product capabilities and developing new analytical capabilities.

What will you be doing?

•  Coordinating with Sales, Trading, Client Services, Operations and IT to establish clients pricing and reporting configurations
• Defining requirements, coding and delivering new ePrime functionality to be rolled out to clients (distribution of Trading Axes and corresponding pricing solutions)
• Defining requirements for and/or code new internal analytical capabilities (e.g. Balance and PnL monitoring)
• Developing both new product capabilities and new analytical capabilities on the ePrime platform
• Partnering with the Data Science Program Engineering team to build two-way electronic communication channels with clients (API, Bot, Bloomberg)
• Partnering with Prime IT team to build internal User Interfaces (Angular PageApps, Bot)

What we’re looking for:

•  Graduate Degree in computer science, information services, engineering or related field 
• Exceptional SQL and Python programming skills
• Ability to prioritise and coordinate under constraint (the client agenda is the main driver)
• Self-starter and pro-active to define objectives and deliver against them.

Skills that will help you in the role:

•  Previous experience in a data scientist role.
• Machine Learning could be useful at some point in the role.
• Solid interpersonal skills (needed with clients and internal stakeholders)
• Basic knowledge of Stock and Bond Securities.
