The Chubb Overseas General (COG) Claims Analytics team provides reporting and business insight solutions for the international claims department, allowing Chubb to provide superior claim handling services to our customers in 54 countries around the world.

KEY OBJECTIVE:

The COG Claims Analytics Optimization Engineer will build the DataOps framework that enables the COG Claims Operationial Intelligence team to efficiently create best-in-class analytics solutions at scale for a myriad of use-cases and internal stakeholders. This, in turn, helps our organization’s handling of claims, and ultimately, benefits our customers’ claims experience.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborating closely with subject matter experts, business analysts to understand data pipeline needs
  • Designing, implementing, and orchestrating reliable, scalable data pipelines that optimize how we serve up data for a wide array of downstream analytics use-cases and stakeholders
  • Support with the creation/enhancement of reporting framework to enable user self-service, efficiency on reporting creation, standardization, and horizontal approach to solutions
  • Working with architects and IT Support to promote best practices for improving analytics data quality, including but not limited to:
  • Documentation
  • Data Sourcing & Conforming
  • Testing & Outlier Detection
  • Proactive Communications
  • Point of reference within the team for new technical solution development, supporting the team with new requirements and projects
  • Being a team player and supporting fellow COG Claims Operational Intelligence team as needed

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant data / analytics engineering experience in a financial services firm
  • Knowledge of insurance products and claims practices is preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in DataOps, DevOps, MLOps, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar discipline
  • Demonstrated experience building reusable, sustainable process flows and data pipelines for analytics purposes
  • Strong scripting expertise in Python and SQL required
  • Expertise in R or VBA is also a plus
  • Knowledge of COGNOS, Qlik Sense, Power BI, or similar business intelligence reporting tools is preferred
  • Experience with Azure (Data Factory, Devops, Databricks, etc) is preferred
  • Experience leveraging GitHub or other version control tools and a strong bias towards effective documentation
  • Experience with corporate Data Governance programs and procedures
  • Experience supporting internal stakeholders of all seniority levels
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, and capable of handling multiple tasks while remaining attentive to details
  • Available for occasional international travel
  • Spanish proficiency is appreciated
