Job Description

Reporting to the Small Business Workers’ Compensation Line Lead, the Senior Product Analyst, will be accountable for supporting line management to help enable profitable growth of the Small Business WC product. This role will have supporting level responsibilities in both product development and product management functions of the line. This includes developing strong analyses of line performance, factoring in production and profit trends, competitive/market position, and expense management. In addition, the role will be responsible for supporting the line lead with development of product enhancements, underwriting guidelines, IT enhancements and requirements, and other various projects associated with the line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regular analyses of production and profit trends with recommendations on which pricing or product levers to pull to drive results
  • Development of detailed business requirements for WC product/system enhancements for IT development; this includes user experience/quality testing on all directed enhancements to ensure high system quality is maintained
  • Work with regulatory to ensure compliance with state laws and regulations
  • Maintain internal product documentation/tables
  • Develops effective relationships across functions and provides consultation to various business partners and teams
  • Support annual planning/forecasting for the line
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial, Data Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years insurance experience; previous product management, product/pricing analyst, or actuarial experience preferred
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills, with thorough attention to detail
  • Strong Excel skills required; experience with data tools (SQL, SAS, Python, R) is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize data to produce recommendations and actions
  • Strong project management skills and drive-for-results mentality, with the ability to prioritize multiple work streams and recommend effective business decisions
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
