Job Description

Title – Sr. Business Analyst / Developer

As a Business Analyst/Developer ,serve as a liaison between the Statistical and Regulatory Reporting Unit and various IT Teams in providing requirements for new development as well as changes to the existing legacy Bureau reporting system. Serve as the technical lead for staff for SQL, Qlk, and other programming tools.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide guidance and direction to the various IT teams (i.e., ATLAS, Chubb Policy Administration Systems, claim systems, downstream processing systems) on behalf of the Statistical and Regulatory Reporting Unit,
  • Provide direction to IT in troubleshooting, issue resolution, and required changes to the legacy Bureau Reporting System. 
  • Provide detailed reporting requirements to IT for new development and changes to existing applications.
  • Develop, test and implement standard data call reports using SQL, Qlk, and other programming tools. 
  • Responsible for developing and documenting transformation rules to be used by IT in the generation of bureau reporting data files and standard data call reports sourced by the ATLAS Data Warehouse.
  • Support the QlkView reporting applications.
  • Project management. Manage various projects including business process and reporting improvements leveraging ATLAS. 
  • Participate in various Chubb Integration Projects affecting statistical and regulatory reporting.
  • Effectively respond to changing business needs and meet aggressive target dates.
  • Foster strong collaboration across various IT disciplines and business areas.
  • Provide Customer Service for internal and external customers.
  • Assist department staff with Query tools including Cognos, QlikView, QlkSense, and other query tools. 
  • Produce ad hoc reports as needed by department staff and other Chubb business units.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience in math, computer science, or data management.
  • 10 - 15 years of experience statistical and regulatory reporting preferred.
  • 3-5 years business intelligence / data management experience.
  • Extensive insurance knowledge in Workers Compensation, Personal Lines, and Commercial Lines Data Call requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge in Chubb’s Bureau Reporting Systems for all lines of business.
  • Overall knowledge of premium and loss concepts and processing systems. 
  • Ability to program in SQL and develop MIS reports using QLIK, Cognos, or other SQL query tools.
  • Knowledge of various IT environments and platforms.
  • Extensive experience with various software packages.
  • Advanced analytical ability in a data intensive environment.
  • Methodical and thorough.
  • Strong collaboration skills across IT Disciplines and Business areas.
  • Strong Customer Service focus for internal and external customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and negotiate with external agencies (e.g. stat agents, NCCI, rating bureaus, Insurance Departments).
