Senior Principal Engineer -Document AI and Automation

The document AI and automation function of Chubb works across the global line of business to drive operational efficiency in the full lifecycle of insurance. Responsibilities

  • Take an active role to lead engineering activities, conduct proof of concept for critical solution components, build the high-level skeleton of the solution to mitigate technical risks, and work closely with the development team on implementation activities
  • Able to link the architectural vision with the business vision and building solutions that focus on business value, not just technical excellence
  • Experience in conducting code reviews, mentoring junior developers, resolving design conflicts and interacting with business users
  • Experience writing clearly intended, scalable, high performant, instrumented and clean code
  • Exceptional Java programming skills, with hands-on programming/application development
  • Lead solutions to overall success using input from the team, stakeholders and customers
  • Own the holistic team performance to business objectives and outcomes to deliver Chubb’s underwriting craftsmanship and expertise digitally
  • Balance cross-functional inputs to set direction for journeys and own the product strategy that is shaped through the domains and the business
  • Work with business intelligence and process engineering partners to track and measure processes, product progress and outcomes, using well defined KPIs that tie back to OKRs
  • 5+ years of experience to work with business SMEs, product owner and enterprise technology leads to envisioning automation solutions to support optimized client experience and operational efficiency
  • Use Agile engineering practices and other technologies to rapidly develop creative and efficient solutions to enhance customer and agent experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experts in intelligent process automation platforms and technologies (OCR, ML, NLP, Graph DB, etc.), serve as examples of quality code and design, and push for better processes around how the team operates
  • Experience with Workfusion platform is a plus
  • In-depth experience and knowledge of software engineering, information systems, and enterprise intelligent automation

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience building mission critical systems using JAVA and Web Technologies
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience designing and developing software/automation solutions using Java (Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Selenium, etc.), relational database (MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.), web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XPATH, etc.).
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment with experience/knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, etc.
  • Familiar with maven and Jenkins
  • Experience in following is a Plus
  • Experience/knowledges of the Workfusion automation platform and Linux is a plus
  • Design, development and configuration Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software systems. Familiarity with RPA frameworks such as AutoIT, pywinauto, pywin32, py3270.
  • Working knowledge of Kafka, Fluentd, FluentBit, Filebeats, Elastic, Logstash and Kibana, Development on cloud (AWS, Google or Azure), Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe etc)
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical fields such as Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Scientist etc. (or relevant experience)
  • Machine learning experience is a plus
