Objectives of the position:

The objective of the position is to create and forecast key metrics used across network and IT functions. Analytics areas will drive investment decisions, customer journey analysis and strategic insights that support business performance in their decisions with data-driven recommendations for action. Use state-of-the-art data analysis and modeling techniques to gain insights into complex datasets and make meaningful recommendations to senior management.

What's waiting for you

• You create insights into network and IT based on analysis and derive recommendations for action and decisions for higher management to improve investment decisions and customer experience and initiate strategic initiatives.
• You will develop statistical models and data mining concepts to address strategic and operational challenges such as network planning and optimization, business impact prediction/assessment, customer experience, risk analysis, customer segmentation, cross and upselling, ARPU, rate management, etc.
• You will work closely with demand and supply teams such as Network Planning & Marketing and other stakeholders to create the best forecasts for traffic volumes, capacity planning, throughput planning and customer experience management.
• You advise the management on analytical issues, which leads to the right decisions for the company to support the company in the transformation process regarding artificial intelligence, advanced analytics and cloud platforms.
• You extract and consolidate data from the network and IT value chain to develop new use cases and insights to address strategic challenges and deliver improvements
• You actively contribute to the continuous development of cloud data platforms and data governance processes
• You will identify and drive new initiatives for tools and data sources, enterprise-wide transformations to data analytics, AI/ML and automation that meet the needs of networks and IT

what you bring

• Excellent university degree in computer science, communications engineering, mathematics, statistics, physics, economics, industrial engineering or computer science or a comparable course
• Very good knowledge and several years of professional experience in the field of data analytics, data mining and big data technologies and products and/or in the field of artificial intelligence
• Very good knowledge of statistics and data-driven analytical methods, as well as machine learning and data science (eg time series forecast, clustering, anomaly detection, supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning)
• Very good knowledge of programming languages ​​such as Python, R, C++ etc. and of common ML tools and libraries, e.g. TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, SciKit-Learn
• Very good knowledge of data analysis and data visualization tools for presenting large amounts of data in a modern and interactive way, e.g. Tableau, Power BI
• Knowledge of the development and implementation of ML models and data pipelines in the environment of current cloud hyperscalers (preferably GoogleCloud, AWS, Microsoft Azure)
• Good knowledge and experience in SQL database programming and in handling databases (e.g. Oracle)
• Knowledge and experience in project management and in agile development processes, procedures and methods
• Advantage: Ideally, knowledge of communications technology and mobile communications networks, as well as an understanding of the IT value chain and the telecommunications market in order to implement targeted data extraction and consolidation
• Proficient in German and English
