Job Description

Develops and maintains a formal description of the data and data structures including the data models, data flow diagrams, data dictionaries and technical metadata.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conceptualizes the overall data architectural framework for large, complex analysis of data for use across the enterprise.
  • Responsible for analyzing and translating business, application, information, data, reporting, and analytical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve business objectives.
  • Leverages data expertise to ensure an optimal systems design from a technical performance, efficiency and operating cost perspective.
  • Monitors and evaluates trends and innovations in the data marketplace to determine if they could effectively enhance the performance of internal systems and/or hardware.
  • Designs and implements technical standards relative to the deployed data platforms to ensure their effective maintenance and stable management.
  • From a technical perspective, plans significant upgrades or systems enhancements to improve performance and may serve as the project manager for larger enhancements.
  • Collaborates with Data Engineers on data model, its maintenance and optimization as well as end-to-end data driven integration strategy.
  • Participates in developing the future state data architecture standards, guidelines, and principles.
  • Optimizes performance of queries and ELT/ETL procedures. Enhances batch routines by optimizing for more modern near real-time capabilities.
  • Builds high quality data pipelines driving analytic solutions.
  • Drives data platform architectural decisions and development standards.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 4 years of experience in data / analytics architecture, engineering design, configuration experience and/or related field OR High School/GED and at least 7 years of experience in data / analytics architecture, engineering design, configuration experience and/or related field
  • At least 1 year of experience in domain-specific Architecture.
  • Experience creating cloud base solutions
  • Knowledge of DevOps
  • At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
  • At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Information Technology
  • Working experience with Cloud technologies
