Walgreens processes hundreds of millions of prescription dispenses a year across nearly 9,000 stores, and each transaction has hundreds of associated data points. Our data platform processes data to create valuable insights, not only for the pharmacy team members, who are serving customers, but also for operations and analytics teams across the company. Access to rich transactional data and insights, whether generated 10 seconds ago or 10 years ago, is changing the way we serve our customers and make decisions. We are looking for a product leader to drive the strategy and execution of our pharmacy data platform with an opportunity to impact all other products and teams within the pharmacy platform and deliver value to our customers and team members.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contributes to product strategy and direction for the pharmacy data platform, driving ideation, planning, development, launch, and maintenance across the portfolio in close partnership with engineering. Implements and refines processes and policies that have significant impact upon the organization.
  • Works with and manages different types of stakeholders, including but not limited to other product managers, business owners, architects, engineers, and core systems owners.
  • Understands and factors in the goals of the customers and customers of their customers
  • Contributes to a multiyear predictable technology roadmap that has been created and prioritized to set expectations with all stakeholders and to build scalable, reliable, maintainable platforms.
  • Evangelizes product benefits and drive adoption across the company to foster a data-driven culture that facilitates collaboration and accelerates innovation
  • Collaborates with product management, solutions management to align on prioritization and timing of product capabilities that enable business solutions serving the specific customer segment(s). Builds strong partnerships with other product managers and solution architects

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 4 years of experience in technical product management, engineering, architecture and/or computer science OR High School/GED and at least 7 years of experience in technical product management, engineering, architecture and/or computer science
  • At least 3 years’ product management experience in data platforms and data products
  • Experience with product development lifecycle and agile methodology & tools
  • Advanced level skill of relational databases, operational data stores, and data lakes.
  • At least 2 years of experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expense and capital budgets.
  • At least 2 years’ experience of direct leadership and/or cross functional team leadership
  • At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience hiring, managing, coaching, and growing a team of product managers.
  • Experience with BI / data visualization tools such as PowerBI and Tableau
  • Intermediate level skill with SQL
