Atlassian is looking for an experienced engineering manager to manage one of Atlassian's ITSM teams in Bengaluru. You will contribute to Atlassian's newest SaaS product, ITSM which is targeted at all teams from IT to HR to Legal. It brings in a slew of features related to setting up and managing service desks, managing incidents, alerts, notifications, etc. You will contribute to products like Jira Service Management | A new take on ITSM software and Opsgenie | Alerting and On-Call Management | Atlassian

You will manage a group of accomplished engineers at varying job levels, from new college grads to senior engineers. You will manage their daily work and mentor them as they climb up their career ladders. You will also help shape the future of Atlassian ITSM by working with your counterparts in product management and design, to make Atlassian ITSM an ideal choice for enterprises.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have the following skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Industry experience working as a hands-on engineering manager or lead engineer, managing a team of engineers
• Fluency in Java (or other object-oriented programming languages)
• At least 5 years of industry experience as a backend or full-stack engineer and 3 years of management experience
• Experience building distributed systems for a SaaS product
• Experience with true continuous delivery to a production system
• Familiarity with industry-standard monitoring systems (e.g. Splunk, DataDog, New Relic, etc.)
• Comfortable in being on-call 24x7 and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement from the ashes of incidents
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Passionate about mentoring engineers and helping others achieve their career goals
• Partner with product managers and designers to shape the course of a product

It's great, but not required if you have:

• Experience using AWS (or another public cloud)
• Familiarity with the Spring framework
• Understanding of ITSM domain
