Insight is a Jira-native configuration management database (CMDB) that helps teams gain complete visibility into infrastructure dependencies to efficiently manage assets, quickly troubleshoot incidents, and minimize the downstream impact of changes.

Halp is a modern ticketing help desk that captures, tracks, and resolves employee requests directly in Slack and Microsoft Teams.

The Principal Engineer role at Atlassian is an engineering leadership role. When we talk about engineering leadership for a project we mean one in which you were driving some of the bigger architectural decisions on that project, and you had a significant amount of freedom in how the overall problem got solved, and managing the engineering trade-offs. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you were in charge of the project itself, but you did play a key role in delivering outcomes.

We are seeking an industry-recognized technical leader to join the IT Solutions organization as an ML Architect.

  • You will work closely with the IT Solutions leadership in engineering, product, and design, in shaping the technical roadmap of smart features in our product portfolio.
  • You will be a role model for, and influence a large team of engineers at various seniority levels all the way from new college grads to principal engineers, and coach/mentor engineers across the various teams.
  • As a member of the cloud technical architecture group, you will propose and review architectures and designs for smart features.
  • You will periodically present technical direction to the CTO, the CTO Leadership Team (CLT), and the Tech Teams triad, consisting of senior executives in the company.

On your first day we’ll expect you to have the following:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Graduate degree preferred.
  • At least 12 years of experience in a variety of hands-on software/technology leadership roles, with end-to-end responsibility through the software development lifecycle
  • At least 4 years working on SaaS products operating at high-scale, performance, and reliability of at least 4 nines. including design, coding, testing, monitoring, and operations
  • At least 4 years of experience in working on Machine Learning (ML) applications for a commercial product
  • Well-versed in Python 3.x and extensive experience with ML frameworks and libraries like PyTorch, TensorFlow, pyspark, scikit, Numpy, pandas.
  • Experience with the application of ML technologies like Language models, NLP, NLU, Anomaly detection, QA modeling, NER models, BERT, USE, SpanBERT, etc.
  • Must have worked with large data sets for fine-tuning and validation
  • Strong experience with at least one public cloud system, ideally AWS, including machine learning offerings
