THIS IS A REMOTE OPPORTUNITY!

The Vice President Advanced Data Science Analytics has day-to-day responsibilities and team oversight for developing world-class advanced analytics roadmap and capabilities that will drive customer value propositions and market competiveness of EXL Health products and services across the markets we serve – payers, brokers/employers, providers, patients, pharmaceutical and start- ups. The VP Advanced Data Science Analytics will be responsible for effective navigation a matrix organizational structure to provide thought leadership and strategic recommendations to associated product managers, and drive cross-functional execution with enabling partners (i.e., technology, clinical informatics, operations, marketing) to meet current and emerging client/prospect/market needs. RESPONSIBILITEIS:

  • In collaboration with D&As Product lead, define, refine and improve our advanced analytics vision, value proposition and thought leadership by performing market research (industry trends, competitive advantage analysis), value creation/differentiation, thought leadership (white papers, publishing, webinars, panel/advisory discussions) and go to market support (sales support, inputs to collateral, analyst meetings, pricing, etc)
  • Provide leadership support to service line product portfolio strategy, including advanced analytics roadmap formation and cost-effective, timely execution with appropriate feedback mechanisms for continuous quality improvement and advance analytics model performance
  • Seek new business opportunities by leveraging the company’s distinctive competence in bringing novel and disruptive advanced analytics to the markets we serve.
  • Manage an advanced analytics team with responsibilities of:
  • Ensuring talent recruitment, retention, development and autonomy with a goal delivering our best outcomes and assist EXL Health to be recognized as an employer of choice
  • Leading the execution of high-quality data science deliverables including foundational research, analytics products and ROI analyses and client-facing business analytics tools by managing a high performing team of data scientists, data analysts and data operations specialists via strong leadership, passion, ownership and motivation
  • Defining and documenting capabilities and performing stakeholder user acceptance testing for successful advanced analytics performance (models state of art, updated, validated, reflect continuous learning/quality improvement)
  • Define client configuration requirements for advanced analytics needs
  • Discover the needs of prospective customers (brokers, employers, providers, patients, pharmaceutical, payers, insurers, emerging markets, etc.) that EXL Health Advanced Analytics in partnership with product/services lines is uniquely positioned to address.
  • Support EXL Health Growth office and applicable GMs/Product roles, representing Data Science Center of Excellence in client forums to discuss key strategic topics, opportunities and drive high-impact decisions.
  • Strong executive-level client facing skills and the ability to communicate complex analytical concepts with confidence to both highly analytically skilled and non-technical/analytic executive audiences
  • Represent the voice of data and analytics, from evaluations and ROI to algorithm efficacy and data insights in client conversations.

Requirements:

  • 10 plus years’ experience in healthcare industry
  • 15 years’ experience in advanced analytics
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial and pioneering skills, and outstanding strategic and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Must have demonstrated track record of successfully leading healthcare advanced analytics data science development roadmap and team
  • Proven ability to create compelling frameworks to develop and validate analytic models based on extensive primary and secondary research.
  • Demonstrated experience in design thinking and agile process and methodology.
  • History of successfully building data solutions, from R&D to testing to deployment at scale
  • Possess a data driven and creative mindset with a problem-solving orientation.
  • Must have demonstrated effective collaboration in matrixed or highly cross-functional business settings
  • Experience designing, developing and delivering advanced analytics as part of Utilization Management, Care Management, Payment Integrity, Revenue Cycle Management, Risk Adjustment & Quality, Population Health Analytics and evolving products and services)
  • Proven Influence Skills – the ability to influence and drive initiatives across functions, levels, and customers; tough-minded with courage of conviction, yet collaborative and professional
  • Execution and Solution-Oriented – able to marshal resources directly and indirectly, conveyinig a clear vision across an enterprise in order to meet or exceed objectives; a self-starter, able to perform within challenging and / or ambiguous environments and situations
  • Demonstrated change leadership style, leading teams through change, building resiliency and optimism of team
  • Proven delivery of exceptional results setting high standards of performance and culture of accountability by leading decisively and implementing processes to drive efficient and sustainable results
  • Proven hands-on technical background in data science with demonstrated strategic impact at an executive level and the scale of industry, including ability to do hands on work alongside with the teams to deliver on Data Science/Advanced Analytics strategy
  • Proven thought leadership capabilities (white papers, peer reviewed publishing, speaking engagements)
  • Experience in due diligence, capability identification, feasibility assessment, and capability design

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Masters required (PhD preferred) in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Engineering, Operations Research etc.or equivalent training/fellowship/work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in leading data science engagements, with experience in the healthcare industry with deep technical background in data science, including but not limited to statistical analyses, predictive and prescriptive modeling, population outcomes studies, machine learning and behavioral analytics
  • Experience in leading high performing advanced analytics teams
  • Specific knowledge of claims and clinical data is required. This should include at least 5 years of experience in Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning algorithms
  • Experience in any of the following areas: Population Health, Provider Analytics, Payer Analytics, Data Management and Predictive Modeling
  • Expertise in using multiple analytical toolkits, including, but not restricted to cloud services (AWS, Azure or GCP), statistical analyses (Python, R or SAS), machine learning/scientific computation (TensorFlow, Keras, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-learn, NLTK or Gensim), data manipulation/analyses (Pandas or SQL), interactive data science and scientific computing tools (e.g., Jupyter)
  • Deep Knowledge on Claims & Payments Lifecycle in US Healthcare
  • Deep knowledge of clinical informatics, procedure codes (CPT, HCPC etc.), diagnosis codes (ICD, MCD etc.), types of Health Plans (HMO, PPO, POS, etc.), Care Management programs (Utilization Management, Disease Management, Case Management etc.), claims adjudication process, product types, customer type (Self Insured, Fully Insured, Both) etc. Knowledge of EHR/EMR data is a plus.
  • Experience in Cloud & NLP Technologies (Preferred)
  • Healthcare product development or services or consulting experience beneficial
