Role and Responsibilities:

• Translate business requirements from the client into equivalent modeling tasks
• Oversee the building of machine learning models through all phases of development, from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation
• Supervise the use of a broad stack of technologies — Python, Conda, AWS, Spark, and more — to reveal the insights hidden within huge volumes of numeric and textual data
• Engage with client, understand requirements & suggest predictive modeling/ML solutions
• Nurture & lead a high performing team of data scientists that is highly engaged, operates with high degree of autonomy, accountability, and a sense of urgency in delivering on business outcomes
• Ensure thorough quality check of the output from team and provide tangible insights / recommendation to the client
• Establish best practices and governance routines to ensure adherence to model management policies, peer reviews, and compliance to policy standards for privacy, ethics, and bias
• Stay informed on the latest advancements in AI and technology space, finding ways to deliver value by applying and customizing these to our specific problem space

Requirement/Competencies:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) degree in in a quantitative or technical field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in Analytics consulting/ data analytics role with experience of leading a team (2+ members)
• Proficient in Python, PySpark, SQL, Excel and can work hands-on
• Experience developing models and algorithms independently, writing own code, developing strategy for algorithmic experimentation, and deploying in production
• Strong understanding of probability & statistical theory
• Thorough experience writing and optimizing advanced SQL queries, with large-scale, complex datasets
• Strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills
• Must be detail oriented, quality driven, and able to shift quickly to new tasks
• Knowledge of data structures, data modeling and software architecture skills is a plus
