Job Description

The BI Report Developer resides within Global Procurement’s Data Analytics team and primarily supports report scoping and development of reporting, dashboards, and analytics across the Source to Pay process. The Source to Pay process covers the following data types: 3rd party spend, diverse spend, projects & savings, requisitions & purchase orders, contracts, and third-party risk management.

The BI Report Developer will scope new reporting requirements presented by Global Procurement Stakeholders, build and update Power BI reports, and document ETL requirements. They will work closely with the Lead Technical Developer and 3rd Party Consultant to help support the evolving reporting needs of the Global Procurement organization at MetLife.

Key Responsibilities:

• Uses report development & data analysis expertise to develop insightful dashboards/reports within Power BI
• Works closely with and takes direction from the Lead Technical Developer
• Documents new reporting requirements from internal stakeholders and develops proof of concept data models for review by the Lead Technical Developer
• Supports in auditing the data in procurement and AP systems to ensure accurate reporting
• Innovates and brainstorms new automation capabilities to remove manual data activities

Required:

• Proven collaboration and interpersonal skills required to build, support, and participate in cross-functional or global category teams
• Team player, demonstrates initiative, responsive to the needs of the organization
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), problem solving, and financial analysis abilities
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to learn MSFT Power Query and MSFT Power BI; Data visualization best practices
• Familiar with SQL or other query languages
• Technical Writing

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or at least 2 years of experience
• Familiarity with Ariba and PeopleSoft
• Understanding of data modeling and the ETL process (Extract, Transform & Load)
• Experience working with Power BI or other BI tools
• Previous scripting experience (i.e. Python) and database query experience (SQL)
• Prior experience working with/in Procurement
