The Role:

The Senior Manager, Customer Data & Analytics will be a key role within the Global Marketing Science’s group, responsible for progressing and putting into practice MetLife’s Customer Data Strategy. In addition, this role will also flow to other key important workstreams across the Global Marketing Strategy & Sciences (GMSS) function to help deliver our shared goal with Global Technology Operations (GTO) of Strengthen our customer data and analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with IT and other ‘analytics’ areas to develop and progress Customer Data Strategy, including best in class processes and techniques to leverage data science across MetLife.
  • Progress Next gen customer analytics
  • Develop playbooks, frameworks and toolkits to access, structure and use customer data to solve specific business challenges.
  • Contribute in designing data driven use cases and recommend analytical levers to apply
  • Oversee and manage the E2E implementation of data driven use cases (i.e. New customer acquisition, Cross sell optimization, retention, etc.)
  • Translate complex data & analytics into easily understood concepts for business utilization
  • Oversee/advise execution of research and marketing analytics’ protocols in the development of projects, research or analytics models, gaining insights to better inform business performance. 
  • Coordinate, manage and oversee key marketing sciences projects such as (but not limited to): KPI tracking and dashboard development, data coordination to support analytics models.
  • Work across the full spectrum of marketing sciences focus areas including strategic insights & performance analytics.
  • Manage research, data mining, predictive modeling and business analytics projects.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand their business hypotheses; scope data science work appropriately based on this analysis to drive their objectives.
  • Project work that deliver both tactical and strategic insights to drive business results.
  • Builds strong working relations and improves workflow and organizational issues.
  • Participate in the development of processes and approaches to improve the effectiveness and visibility of data science and the advancement of marketing analytics.
  • Collect, analyze data for its use to and drive actionable and clear recommendations to the Business.
  • Leverage data science tools and techniques to analyze large data sets to develop and customize models/algorithms used uncover trends, patterns and insights in the data.
  • Partner with global teams to distribute/train on newly developed process and guidelines.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 6+ years of experience in business/data setting with experience in data analysis, data stewardship, data modeling.
  • Background in design of experiments (A/B testing), regression modeling, and other techniques.
  • Strong experience across descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics. Experience in building or managing complex level statistical and data mining models. Advanced data preparation skills. Extracting, modeling and manipulating large data sets e.g., Survey data, 1st , 2nd and 3rd party data).
  • Strong grasp of data management and data flow as it relates to disparate reporting systems (e.g. ad serving, digital analytics, lead and sales reporting).
  • Ability to conduct research using statistical, data mining and predictive analytics tools.
  • Established track record of managing and prioritizing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic knowledge of marketing principles, fundamental finance & budgeting concepts.
  • Sound business acumen with results-driven mindset and sense of urgency.
  • Experience on customer analytics practices such as Demand Generation, Churn Prevention, Customer Life Time Value, Experience optimization, UX Testing etc.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Statistics, Economics, Math as well as any other related field of expertise.
  • Proficiency in Tableau, Power BI or other BI data aggregation and visualization software.
  • Material experience and proficiency in statistical packages such as SAS, SPSS, Alteryx is a plus.
  • Conceptual modeling: Ability to share and articulate modeling.
  • Fluency in digital industry standard reporting tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics & DoubleClick.
  • Comfort with typical advanced analytics concepts as applied to the marketing function.
