Senior BSA is a critical role and act as a backbone to an analytics life cycle, responsible for requirements gathering, source systems analyses, architecting and delivering right data models to enable development and deployment of data delivery (extraction, transformation, and loading) jobs. The role will collaborate with Business, Data science, BI & Insights teams to develop robust, stable analytical solutions leveraging the cutting-edge technologies and frameworks. The role requires a BSA enthusiast with strong analytical expertise, very strong in SQL and Big Data technologies to design approaches and build analytical solutions across various use cases. The person will also mentor BSAs and Associate BSAs and review their work.

Job Responsibilities

• Understand the requirements from Business and Data Science, Understand the business and business impact on use cases.
• Work with Lead Data Scientist to translate given business problem into analytical use-cases with defined outcomes
• Analyze the data in depth, using SQLs and other exploratory tools against various platforms such as Big data, Oracle, SQL Server and others.
• Convert business requirement document to Functional requirement document, with detailed transformation rules for ETL team. This is a very technical hands-on role.
• Work closely with the ETL and DS team to review the requirements and data integrations.
• Write validation scripts to validate the data loaded by ETL team.
• Works with IT and business customers to develop and design requirements to formulate technical design. 
• Supervisory Responsibilities: Leads and motivates project team members that are not direct reports, as well as providing work direction to lower-level staff members
• Skills to understand the right functional domain knowledge of the business to be able to gather right requirements for the design.
• Lead, coach, support, and mentor team members – set up performance goals, review their work as required, provide adequate guidance, feedback to help them achieve their goals and do right for Enterprise

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline

Experience

• 8+ years of solutions development experience
• Proficient understanding of distributed computing principles
• Experience working on Data Lake using Big Data Ecosystems.

Knowledge and skills (general and technical)

• Proficiency and extensive experience in Data analysis
• Solid background on writing SQLs and using other exploratory tools.
• Extensive experience writing Functional requirements and high-level design documents.
• Experience in writing validation scripts to validate the data, data integrations and ETL transformations.
• Analytical skills to analyze situations and come to optimal and efficient solution based on requirements.
• Strong background or experience working in Insurance Industry.
• SQL tuning and DW concepts.
• Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.

Other Requirements (licenses, certifications, specialized training – if required)

• Experience in Data Warehouse projects.
• Experience working on Data Science projects and exposure to data science.
• Experience in any Data Visualization tools or ETL tools is a plus.
