The Lead Data Engineer s a critical role in designing, developing, and delivering Disability Finance SQL Server (DFSS) solutions, in alignment with MetLife’s Enterprise Data Management Strategy. The Lead Software Development Engineer supports evaluation and selection of existing (or creation of new) best practices, design patterns, architecture, and frameworks suitable to successfully develop and deliver large and/or complex programs and projects.
The Lead Software Development Engineer will work with on-site and offshore development teams, engage participants, generate artifacts, solicit feedback, communicate, and drive collaboration with key stakeholders and business leaders across the Strategy, Delivery, Enterprise Architecture, QA and other organizations across MetLife’s Global Technology and Operations (GTO) and Lines of Business (LOBs).

The Lead Software Development Engineer, Data & Analytics is accountable for the development and optimization of key data Core Assets platforms (like DFSS) used by the US business for customer/partner reporting. This position is an engineering and technology-focused role requiring experience working in a matrix driven organization across multiple platforms using a variety of process, engineering, and operational methodologies.
Responsibilities include requirements analysis, design, development, and integration leveraging enterprise platforms and architecture. The candidate serves as a technical expert to the project team and must demonstrate knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), databases, Informatica PowerCenter, data warehouse implementation processes, ETL, data quality along with data governance, data profiling and data lineage.
