Raytheon Industry 4.0 - Smart Digital Factory and Automation (SDF&A) has an immediate career-growth opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and innovative IIoT and Systems Integration Engineer to join our Team. As an IIoT and Systems Integration engineer, you will be a key contributor to design, development, integration, testing and deployment of advanced IIoT / Industry 4.0 technologies based in Ignition. Additionally, this role will perform root cause corrective action (RCCA) for any hardware and software issues identified in the SDF&A products in the manufacturing factory while supporting data analytics and data visualization efforts. The role will work in close collaboration with digital factory engineering, chief engineers / architects, front end of the business, and SDF&A / factory leadership and will include all aspects of the product development lifecycle - planning, requirements, design, development, test, deployment, and sustainment.

This position is onsite at our Andover and may support occasional remote work. Must be available for infrequent (approx 10%) travel to other Raytheon U.S. locations

 Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Contribute to IIoT continued growth and deployment by working with sensors, gateways, connectivity solutions, APIs, and data analytic platforms.
  • Integrate hardware components and complex systems within the manufacturing floor, ensuring they function seamlessly and securely together.
  • Provide recommendations and execution on methods to connect manufacturing equipment to IIoT/OT layer network.
  • Ability to set communication protocols and network configurations on network devices (EIP, Modbus/TCP, MQTT, MTConnect, SECS/GEM, etc).
  • Define integration strategies and methods and planning them within established timeframes.
  • Analyze and correlate large, complex data sets; support digital thread implementation; develop and execute analytics reports and visualization toolsets while ensuring data integrity.
  • Create and provide technical documentation that explains hardware and integrations to technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Contribute to major team projects as well as work with minimal oversight to solve complex problems.
  • Supporting SDF&A Engineering Systems.

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years related manufacturing experience, to include SCADA (Ignition SCADA highly preferred ) development using combination of tools such as: SQL, Python, C#/.NET, HTML5, JSON.
  • Experience using industrial communication protocols such as Modbus/TCP, MQTT, EIP, SECS/GEM, MTConnect, etc.
  • Experience with PLCs, sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, and other electronic components commonly used by Mfg. devices
  • -The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance and who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization. S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience with Industry 4.0 key concepts – connectivity, data collection, IIoT, systems integration, AI, machine learning, ISA-95, Pub/Sub. including cybersecurity practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ignition gold certification
  • Deep understanding in distributed controls, cyber security, IT infrastructure integration or other related fields
  • Proficiency in programming languages relevant to IIoT, such as Python, Java, and C/C++
  • Experience with SQL Server, SAP, Eyelit, SQL Server job agent automation, SQL Server SSIS
  • Experience with big data and data mining.
  • Experience building APIs and creating web applications.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps services framework.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems)
  • Understanding of automation systems (robots, vision systems, PLCs, etc.) deployment and integration
  • Familiar with machine learning techniques and data analytics

A University applicable Technical Degree in Science, Engineering, Math, Computer Science

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
