We have an opening for a Senior Tax Manager in Raytheon Technologies (RTX) Corporate Indirect Tax department. This is a Hybrid role and can be based in either Farmington, CT or Dallas, TX and is a Data Scientist/Analytics role responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex data sets, providing thought leadership on the design of Tax data warehouses and other custom data solutions for Tax, and the utilization of these solutions to provide the insights required to make actionable data-driven business decisions. This position reports directly to the Director of Indirect Tax Audits and Risk Management.

What you will do:

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Provide overall guidance in managing, organizing, and analyzing large volumes of financial and tax data utilizing tax technology solutions to streamline tax processes and improve efficiencies.
  • Analyzing complex datasets to extract valuable insights and patterns and presenting findings to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Develop data cleansing and transformation processes to enhance the quality of tax data.
  • Utilizing analytic tools to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities to improve processes.
  • Leading data analytic projects from end-to-end, including problem definition, data collection, model development and deployment.
  • Design, build, and maintain predictive and prescriptive models. - Explore, clean, and preprocess large datasets for analysis.
  • Create data visualizations and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
  • Leading and providing guidance to team members on data analytic projects.
  • Staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science and machine learning.
  • In-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts, including data modeling, ETL processes, data integration, and data storage

Qualifications you must have:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in data science or modern data warehousing & analytics, with a focus on real-world applications.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience applying data science / data warehousing & analytics within Tax or Finance setting.
  • 3 or more years programming experience in languages such as Python and VB.
  • General knowledge of indirect tax laws, regulations, and compliance processes.
  • Experience with modern data warehousing technologies (i.e. Snowflake, Data bricks).
  • Experience with Alteryx designer building workflows and Power BI visualization tools.

Education Experience Skills and Certifications

  • This role typically requires a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance or related field and 10 years relevant experience or a Master’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools/sites that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools and processes.
  • Experience with Web APIs (REST / SOAP).
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for management, summarizing key insights, progress, and challenges.
  • Strong ability to identify opportunities to design, and implement streamlined workflows and procedures to optimize resource allocation, minimize delays, and enhance overall productivity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to lead and develop team members.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to Articulate complex ideas and strategic plans clearly and concisely to senior management, ensuring alignment with team objectives.

  • This is a Hybrid role and can be located in Dallas TX or Farmington CT

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
