About The Role

Reporting into our Chief Product Officer and interfacing regularly with Senior Leadership and internal stakeholders, the Director of Product Analytics and Data Science plays a critical role in driving Innovation in Pershing’s Products and Platforms and represent the client voice in our product development lifecycle. You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies, models, reports, and procedures across client portfolios, market research, and technology solutions.

In this position you will partner with other departments and branches to assist in building and implementing business processes and tools that help us make sense of our data and analytics from our clients and products. You will also be working with data experimentation and design, client insights and product development.

The ideal candidate will be located in our Jersey City office and will be operating in a hybrid work structure (3x per week in office.)

We are looking for someone who has…

  • Exceptional skills in problem framing, strategic thinking and communication demonstrating an ability to convey insights effectively to diverse stakeholders
  • A comprehensive technical background encompassing in production data products experimentation advanced metrics and modeling including proficiency and machine learning
  • Proven capability to transform conceptual ideas into operational prototypes and drive them to production with a discerning judgment to balance long term impact and short term goals
  • Proficiency in data slash software engineering guiding the vision for tooling and automation a track record of leading data science and engineering teams ensuring the successful launch and adoption of consumer facing algorithm oriented product experiences
  • Outstanding communication skills to influence teams and stakeholders at a strategic level
  • Ability to navigate seamlessly between client slash business management and technical product management

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of business trends and challenges, addressing the complexities of a multi-sided marketplace through data-driven problem-solving and cross-functional solution implementation.
  • Align UI and Algorithmic innovations to identify and execute high-value opportunities, ensuring a harmonized and concerted effort.
  • Design and execute A/B testing to optimize various aspects of our digital products and enhance the user experience.
  • Lead the implementation of product analytics initiatives, establishing analytical frameworks and measurement capabilities to generate data-driven insights for business growth.
  • Drive forward-looking research to gain cohesive insights into client behavior and use of our products and platforms, contributing concretely to the product roadmap.
  • Spearhead the evolution of our innovation approach through testing strategy, tooling, workflow improvements, and more.
  • Analyze client engagement, identifying trends and opportunities to enhance the user experience and inform product development.
  • Lead efforts to monetize data-driven opportunities, leveraging analytics to drive revenue growth.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in product analytics and client engagement.
  • Effectively communicate learnings and recommendations to key stakeholders across the organization to develop and deliver on your roadmap.

Your experience should include:

  • 12+ years of relevant work experience in business operations, insights, analytics, or strategy with deep exposure to data science, preferably in a rigorous analytical role such as consulting, banking, or venture capital
  • Experience with SQL, the Python ML ecosystem, and Algorithm-oriented User Interfaces.
  • Clear understanding of prediction models, marketing channel mix, attribution, user behavior, website performance, etc.
  • Proficiency in ingesting, processing, and visualizing large, complex data sets - structured/relational and unstructured.
  • Fluency in data/software engineering skills to guide the vision for tooling/automation.
  • Ability to influence cross-functionally, lead effectively, think creatively, and translate research into insights by illustrating their value.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tell a compelling story combining data with qualitative insights tailored to any audience.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $122,000 and $266,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
