JOB SUMMARY

Thus, through our enriching internship program, we help develop the next generation of engineers and technologists. As a Reduced Order Modeling Research and Development Intern, you will join a team responsible for the R&D of state-of-the-art electromagnetics, circuit, and system simulators. This is a 40-hour per week paid position, starting May 2024 and concluding August 2024.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Combine statistical, machine learning, and reduced order modeling techniques to construct fast surrogates of electronics and thermal integrity simulators
  • Develop and automate data collection processes and simulation pipelines

JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pursuing MS or PhD in computer science, applied mathematics, electrical engineering, or related technical field
  • Proved experience in constructing machine learning-based surrogates for scientific applications, neural operators, and/or digital twins
  • Proved experience with implementing state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms using Python libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
  • Ability to work remotely and collaboratively

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A graduate degree in computer science or applied mathematics is preferred
  • Experience with dimensionality reduction and data clustering techniques is preferred.
  • Experience with physics-informed machine learning is preferred
  • Experience with uncertainty quantification and a probabilistic programming language (PPL) (e.g., TensorFlow Probability, Pyro, PyMC) is a plus
  • Experience with reduced order modeling approaches is a plus
  • Experience with state-space and rational fitting algorithms is a plus
  • Experience with C++ is a plus
  • Knowledge of cooling, heat transfer theory, and thermal integrity is a plus
  • Knowledge of electronic circuit theory is a plus
