Job Description

Ansys is the global leader in engineering simulation, helping the world's most innovative companies deliver radically better products to their customers. By offering the best and broadest portfolio of engineering simulation software, Ansys helps companies solve the most complex design challenges and engineer products limited only by imagination.

Summary / Role Purpose

The R&D Engineer (m/f/d) contributes to the development of machine learning, optimization and uncertainty quantification methods and algorithms. In this role, the R&D Engineer will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to accomplish development objectives.

The R&D Engineer will join the ANSYS optiSLang Research and Development team that creates state of the art software for machine learning based sensitivity analysis, optimization and uncertainty quantification analysis. Ansys optiSLang is the premium software package for process integration and parametric design optimization. With the help of machine learning methods, the design optimization tools are extended by an automatic meta-modeling framework for efficient sensitivity analysis and multi-disciplinary optimalization.

Beside the process integration capabilities in Ansys optiSLang, which allow the parametric coupling of almost all numerical simulation tools, the algorithmic core is very important for a successful industrial application. The further development of state-of-the-art methods for sensitivity analysis, meta-modeling, and machine learning, as well as single- and multi-objective optimization and decision making are substantial for the future success of Ansys optiSLang.

The R&D Engineer contributes to the development of new methods and algorithms as well as the maintenance and improvement of existing implementations. The spectrum of his work covers the development of consistent mathematical formulations, efficient and robust implementation in the algorithmic library using C++ and python, and finally the publication and the patenting of novel ideas.
