Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide hardware and software support on PlusAI’s full-stack, self-driving technology for large-scale, autonomous commercial fleets.
  • Perform research and contribute to how the PlusAI autonomous system achieves higher levels of autonomy through machine learning engineering.
  • Responsible for supporting the company in designing and building end-to-end systems, algorithms, and software for constructing autonomous vehicles.
  • Develop, implement, and test algorithms and software for mapping & localization system based on a multi-sensor fusion approach using global positioning system (GPS), inertial measurement units (IMU), cameras, and light detection and ranging (LiDAR) for self-driving trucks.
  • Research and construct machine learning-based models for enabling self-driving vehicles to perceive and understand the surrounding environment.
  • Utilize knowledge of commonly used computer vision, machine learning frameworks and libraries, and software development tools to collaborate with teams of different functionalities and integrate various components (perception, planning, prediction, control, simulation, and data infrastructure) into a running system.
  • Review and analyze complex system requirements, and translate detailed designs into various computer programming languages, such as C++ and Python.
  • Develop, execute, and test mapping & localization algorithms, such as simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), point cloud algorithm [including iterative closest point (ICP)], and Kalman filtering.
  • Research and implement state-of-the-art techniques for object-detection, lane-tracking, image segmentation, and other computer vision tasks to build fast, accurate, and reliable systems for enabling tracking and control in autonomous vehicles.
  • Continuously measure and improve the performance metrics of the mapping & localization system based on data collected by company and partner fleets.
  • Use good oral and written communication skills to collaborate with the operations team to review progress and discuss requirements regarding data collection, preprocessing, labeling, testing, and analysis.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

$140,000 - $165,000 a year

Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
