Join our dynamic team at Plus as a Perception Intern and immerse yourself in the cutting-edge world of autonomous vehicles delivering real-world impact. You'll dive into the heart of a state-of-the-art simulation pipeline and collaborate with industry experts as you train and fine-tune multimodal deep learning models.

Responsibilities:

• Apply cutting-edge computational geometry, image processing, computer vision, and machine learning techniques to tackle the long tail of real-world situations.
• Design and validate deep learning models against challenging real-world and simulation scenarios. Contribute to the continuous improvement of our simulation pipeline to enhance the performance of perception algorithms.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop efficient deep learning models and integrate them into our production perception pipeline.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in perception technologies and actively participate in knowledge sharing within the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Required Skills:

• Currently pursuing an MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, with a strong academic background in relevant coursework.
• Proficient in Python or C++
• Deep understanding of machine learning principles and methodologies, demonstrated through academic coursework or hands-on project experience.
• Practical experience in applying and fine-tuning deep neural networks, particularly in large-scale, data-driven applications.
• Strong familiarity with machine learning/deep learning tools and frameworks like Pytorch and ONNX
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a dynamic, cross-functional team.

Preferred Skills:

• Past experience with AV simulation frameworks and training deep learning models for scene understanding.
• Experience with ROS, C++, CUDA.
• Publication record in relevant venues (CVPR, ICLR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, AAAI, SIGGRAPH).

Salary Range:

• $19 - $65 an hour

Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.
