Responsibilities

• Provide hardware and software support on PlusAI’s full-stack, self-driving technology for large-scale, autonomous commercial fleets.
• Perform research and contribute to how the PlusAI autonomous system achieves higher levels of autonomy through machine learning engineering, specifically in perception.
• Responsible for supporting the company in designing and building end-to-end systems, algorithms, and software for constructing autonomous vehicles.
• Utilize knowledge of commonly used computer vision, machine learning, deep learning frameworks and libraries (OpenCV, Tensorflow, PyTorch), and software development tools to collaborate with teams of different functionalities and integrate various components (perception, planning, control etc.) into a running system.
• Review and analyze complex system requirements, and translate detailed designs into various computer programming languages, such as C++ and Python.
• Research and implement state-of-the-art techniques for object-detection, lane-tracking, image segmentation, and other computer vision tasks to build fast, accurate, and reliable systems for enabling tracking and control in autonomous vehicles.
• Design, implement, and test computer vision and deep learning algorithms using sensors, including the camera, LiDAR, and radar-based perception systems.
• Perform system-level integration of various hardware with computation platforms, and build supporting regression and simulation infrastructures to test systems, safely and reliably.
• Research state-of-the-art techniques for model training and optimization, computer vision algorithm development, and writing object-oriented code in C/C++ and Python.
• Design and automate evaluations of key performance metrics, such as latency, memory, and quality to accurately and quantitatively measure the performance of the perception systems.
• Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigating the product development and implementation stages.
• Work closely with other engineering teams to resolve a wide range of perception driving scenarios, including requirements across the stack to develop safe vehicle behavior in nominal and challenging scenarios.
• Manage projects from design to production, and present product features and technology overview to current and potential customers.
• Use good oral and written communication skills to collaborate and coordinate with other engineers and developers to review progress, and present reports to the head of engineering at major milestones. 

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Must have good oral and written communication skills.
• Industry or academic experience in the following areas:

$165,000 - $200,000 a year

Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
