A (web) app that allows technicians of an Info Support customer, ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, to quickly and easily order the right spare part by taking a photo of it. There is a great need for this at the market leader in the field of service and maintenance of automatic doors. You can solve this problem by, for example, using object recognition or other techniques and optimally training a machine learning model.

ASSA ABLOY maintains a huge number of doors, of different brands and types. Each of these doors has many different spare parts. It is extremely difficult for technicians to find and order the right parts for maintenance. It happens several times that the wrong parts have been ordered and that the technician has to visit again and the customer is not helped immediately. ASSA ABLOY is looking for a solution to improve this process.

The assignment
A mobile (web) app must be developed in which the correct spare part is automatically found in the database of existing parts by means of a photo that the technician takes of the spare part. You can use object recognition for this and will research the different techniques that you can use for this. Consideration must also be given to how the machine learning model can best be trained and what information is required for this.
