Job Description

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Manager of Data Analysis, the Senior Data Analyst will have deep expertise in data acquisition, scripting, and visualization, and advanced topics such as unstructured data and machine learning. This role will serve as an ambassador for emerging technology to drive Financial Integrity Team’s (FIT) mission using cutting edge tools to monitor fraud risks.

Critical areas of focus:

  • Quality, accuracy and completeness of technology and data
  • Design and implement fraud detection software solutions
  • Coach Fraud Specialists on use of software tools

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for deploying cutting edge technology to proactively monitor fraud risks across the organization
  • Implement solutions to directly connect / acquire data from ERP, third-party, and home-grown systems for real-time monitoring.
  • Develop solutions to enable analysts to acquire / connect to the needed data from multiple data sources without the involvement of product owners
  • Upskill team of analysts with varying levels/experience in data analytics
  • Perform detailed quality reviews over the work of analysts to ensure information and findings from analytics are valid
  • Define business and technical requirements for team of analysts

Qualifications

  • Experience (3+ years) as a software engineer, data architect, Financial or data analytics
  • Experience in Data Analytics, need strong technical knowledge
  • Required Bachelor’s Degree and Preferred Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
  • At least one or more certifications: ACFE, AWS, ITIL, CISSP, MCTS, PMP, CISA, GIAC, MCSE, CCSP, CCNP
  • Deep expertise in data acquisition, scripting, and visualization, and advanced topics such as unstructured data and machine learning
  • Excellent listening, verbal, written and presentation communication skills – interactive listening, able to deliver complex messages, build strong working relationship across the business and influence others, including senior stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills and/or track record of planning and leading projects.
  • Great leadership skills, including experience in identifying and developing high-performing talent.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills; ability to take large volumes of complex information and present it in a clear and concise manner.
  • Uses a data-driven, digital, modern audit approach; continuously advocates for the use of technology and data.
  • Solid capability of working with a team in a fast-paced environment to meet strict deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
  • Steps forward to address difficult issues and guides others toward the accomplishment of identified, meaningful goals.
  • Expert of big-data and data-management techniques with a knowledge of custom API calls and connectors to acquire and analyze data from multiple sources/systems
  • Technical specialty with ERPs (SAP)
  • Data cleansing and data wrangling experience using SQL, Python, or PowerQuery
  • Experience developing automations that wrangle unstructured data (invoices, finance reports, contracts, images) using tools such as R, ABBYY, BluePrism, Python, or other OCR solutions
  • Experience developing interactive dashboards and visualizations in Power BI or Tableau

$123k - $145k a year in Brooklyn, NY and Melville, NY.

$115k - $135k a year in Waltham, MA.

$103k - $121k a year in Syracuse, NY and Albany, NY.

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
