The Marketing Insights team at Instagram are the stewards and enablers of this brand strategy throughout the organization. We evangelize what is unique about the app, help more people unlock more value from the app, and ensure that all communications reinforce the brand and drive measurable business outcomes. This Marketing Insights Researcher is dedicated to the experiences within the app that unlock user value. We identify the products and features that are the most brand-accretive to inform the prioritization of marketing efforts. We understand ways to refine products and remove barriers to using them to maximize user value. We inspire the creation of new products that are brand-accretive, and ensure that go-to-market efforts reinforce the brand story that we are building. Marketing Insights is an integral part of the marketing team and works cross-functionally with product, UX research, and data science teams. You will influence marketing strategy, campaign development, and product roadmaps that help the billion people who use our app. The Marketing Insights Researcher is as much a strategist as a researcher. They will design, execute, and deliver high-impact primary and secondary research (both quantitative and qualitative) in order to develop strategic recommendations and drive outcomes for the business. The ideal candidate will be a flexible and agile market research expert with phenomenal analytical and communication skills. This is an individual contributor role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead research across a core value proposition for Instagram (connection, discovery, or expression)
  • Design and execute innovative quantitative and qualitative research to support the marketing organization, Instagram, Threads, and Meta at large
  • Translate research findings into actionable insights and strategic recommendations that will have an effect on reaching hundreds of millions of people
  • Inspire product creation and influence product roadmaps to bring our brand to life within the product
  • Communicate effectively in order to motivate people to take action in marketing and across the organization
  • Develop and drive research strategy globally

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience with extensive background in quantitative and qualitative research, including hands-on experience in research instruments (e.g., such as discussion guides or survey questionnaires) and data analysis (e.g., weighting, data, regression, cluster/segmentation analysis)
  • Experience with data analysis tool (e.g., SPSS, R, Python, SQL)
  • Demonstrated track record of identifying business opportunities and using research to drive strategy
  • Experience with independently executing full-cycle research from research design to reporting
  • Experience directing agencies/vendors to deliver results
  • Experience using primary and secondary research to influence executives and colleagues
  • Experience with product optimization research
  • Experience with survey programming tool (e.g., Qualtrics or SurveyMonkey)
  • Experience with international research.
