BAE Systems is seeking a BI Developer/Data Engineer with exceptional technical skills to join the Finance Business Intelligence team. As a BI Developer/Data Engineer, you will be responsible for data extraction and manipulation of data sets and will incorporate new technology to support these efforts. You will demonstrate your strong visualization skillset by producing insightful, interactive dashboards utilized at all levels of management. You will also collaborate to establish best practices for data extraction, visualization and data governance which will set the foundation for our journey.

In this job, you will:

• Work independently, but in a cross-functional team environment.
• Utilize strong communication skills to interface with the Finance organization and beyond
• Extract, transform, load and model data
• Create workflows
• Develop dashboards to enhance decision making, following visualization best practices and ensuring a consistent look and feel among dashboards
• Measure the impact of your development through defined metrics and statistical reporting
• Manage the analytics request process by capturing requirements and delivering fully tested, efficiently developed solutions aligned with end user expectations
• Provide end user as well as developer support
• Collaborate on data warehousing strategies in alignment with ES Sector and BAE Systems, Inc. direction under the Chief Data Officer's strategies and tactics as we move to Amazon Web Services
• Become a data evangelist and support our roadmap
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Database Development, Software Engineering, or Computer Science with 2+ years’ applicable experience or BS and 4+ years’ experience
• A minimum 2 years of working experience with SQL and Alteryx
• Strong Python or R skills
• A minimum 2 years of working experience with Power BI and/or Tableau
• Strong testing and version control methodology
• Must have strong problem-solving, analytical and in-depth research skills
• Possess the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
• Be able to prioritize and self-manage a multitasked workload in a fast-paced environment
• Experience trumps education provided the above are met

Pursuant to a specific U.S. Government contract, selected individual must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Experience with Oracle databases and/or ERP
• Experience with Hyperion and/or Essbase
• AWS experience or other cloud-based technologies
• Statistical analysis skills
