What you will do:

PGIM Quant Solutions is looking for a Natural Language Processing researcher that will be embedded in the investment team along-side multi-asset and equity investment professionals. We are looking for an individual that is committed to producing high-quality research using advanced data analytics to drive the investment process. You will work closely with other quantitative researchers and portfolio managers on a variety of projects that span numerous datasets.

What you can expect:

  • You will be responsible for retrieving and testing data from external and internal sources, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • You will develop innovative NLP tools to derive investment insights.
  • You will work closely with other quant researchers and portfolio managers on integrating the data insight into the investment process: generating investment ideas, testing systematic models, support model implementation process.
  • You will partner with the internal technology team to help identify and rectify NLP data issues. In addition, you will assist in building data pipelines to enable advanced analytics capabilities, and in driving the development of analytics platforms.

What you will bring (We know not everyone will meet 100% of the requirements, however we encourage you to apply if you think your skills are a good fit for this role):

  • Ph.D. or Master degree in a quantitative field (such as computer science, statistics / math, physics, engineering, economics / finance), a focus on NLP / ML / AI preferred
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning and natural language processing methods
  • Experience in applying these techniques to large datasets
  • Working experience with at least one NLP toolkit such as SpaCy, BERT or Gensim.
  • Hands on experience with Python and large databases
  • 1-3 year of work experience, experience in the financial industry preferred
  • Independent problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate ideas to internal user groups.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $140,000 to $160,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
