Prudential’s Chief Data Office is seeking a Manager, Analytics and Insights in the Business Intelligence team to engage and consult with the business as a strategic advisor to position them for success with the best possible analytics, insights and recommendations based on deep business understanding. This role will report to the Senior Agile Product Owner, Business Intelligence.

The Manager, Analytics and Insights will drive insight generation, develop roadmaps and lead/support execution of multiple key analytics initiatives while building relationships across different teams within the organization. The role requires a rare combination of sophisticated analytical expertise, business acumen, strategic mindset, client, relationship, and project management, and a passion for building new capabilities.

The Manager, Analytics and Insights will work with agile product teams to drive dashboarding and insights initiatives aligned to the overall strategy. The person will build high quality dashboards or insights decks and work collaboratively across Prudential and third-party vendors to deliver a technology-led, data driven products that support our customers’ success. Example products may include but may not be limited to: Tableau/PowerBI dashboards, business insights decks, driving end-to-end BI solutions working with large and small teams.

The successful candidate must have expertise in execution and operations of data analytics technologies (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, SQL), experience creating data products (e.g., ingestion, consumption, data models supporting analytic solutions), descriptive or predictive statistics, and story-telling of insights.

Job responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business partners to proactively identify needs, prioritize, and develop roadmaps.
  • Integrate and analyze multiple disparate data sources from a variety of systems, such as structured and unstructured data, speech analytics, digital footprints, customer behavior, financial information, and secondary sources, as appropriate, with a goal to discover meaningful implications for businesses to make concrete business decisions
  • Prepare, analyze, and identify issues with data and provide recommendations and alternatives.
  • Proactive business engagement, analysis, ownership and buy-in of recommendations.
  • Leverage partnership with multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure best practices and lessons learned.
  • May have management responsibilities for a small team, or may be an individual contributor with manager responsibilities for a project process

Your Expertise

What you will need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in an analytical discipline such as engineering, economics, applied mathematics, statistics, or business with a strong appetite for quantitative analysis.
  • 5+ years of experience and expertise in analytics, performance measures, or related field.
  • Ability to independently work effectively with large and complex datasets to identify performance drivers and trends.
  • Ability to adopt a consultative customer-focused approach to scope a problem, provide recommendations and execute solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Well organized with a strong drive for delivering results.
  • Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities.
  • Ability to focus on both details and strategy, and project manage visible and high priority initiatives.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications with executive presence.
  • Ability to operate autonomously under limited supervision.
  • Experience with or aptitude for Tableau, SQL, PowerBI, and other data related tools.
  • Ability to write PowerPoint decks to effectively organize and communicate a story around insights.

It would be a plus if you have:

  • Experience working in an Agile environment, principles, or Agile related certifications.
  • Experience with or evaluating data analytics platforms like Python, R, Paxata, Metrics Insights, or AWS.
  • Experience in Operations and/or Marketing analytics, trends and insights.
  • Understanding of or aptitude for master data management, data governance, and enterprise data platforms.
  • Managing external stakeholders including vendors.
  • Ability to influence peers, senior leaders and others who are not direct reports. Must have the ability to work across businesses/teams to gain buy-in and build consensus to deliver on objectives.
