WHAT YOU WILL DO

In this vital role you will support Enterprise Compliance Analytics within Worldwide Compliance and Business Ethics and apply quantitative analytical skills to challenge the status quo and embed advanced analytics in compliance-related projects. The Data Scientist is responsible for designing, building, implementing and maintaining innovative data products to help identify trends and generate insights from both structured and unstructured data. This position can be remote from any US location.

  • Drive cross functional analytics projects from beginning to end; from building relationships with key collaborators to identifying appropriate data sets, conducting analytics and summarizing / presenting key insights in support of decision making
  • Use analytics tools and scientific rigor to produce useful insights
  • Present results to various levels within the organization
  • Ability to build and maintain automated analytics work for internal clients with SAS, SAS EBI, Python
  • Drive strategic and innovative approaches to solve key business problems
  • Perform ad hoc analytics as needed and support priority projects

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctorate degree

Or

  • Master’s degree and 3 years of data science, statistics, data mining, business analytics, and/or computer science experience

Or

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of data science, statistics, data mining, business analytics, and/or computer science experience

Or

  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of of data science, statistics, data mining, business analytics, and/or computer science experience

Or

  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of of data science, statistics, data mining, business analytics, and/or computer science experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience and demonstrated competency with statistical programming languages and analyses of complex data sets
  • Experience with healthcare compliance activities data including but not limited to Fees-for-Service data, External Funding data, Ethics Point data, RML data, Salesforce data, SAP and Concur data
  • Experience with SAS EBI tools (Base SAS, Enterprise Guide, Stored Processes, SAS Portal, etc.)
  • Experience with Unix, SAS in Unix environment, Oracle, SQL Server, Tableau, SQL and other languages
  • Ability to solve complex business problems, sometimes in ambiguous situations
  • Experience with unstructured data
  • Experience processing, filtering, and presenting large quantities of data stored in data warehouse or data lake repositories
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms is a plus (e.g. Amazon Web Services)
  • Ability to think strategically and in terms of the business to help teams synthesize business problems and recommend analytical approaches to formulate insights
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences
  • Proficient with data visualization tools
