Job Description

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. This is an opportunity to join Amgen’s Biologic Therapeutic Discovery organization as a Postdoctoral fellow. In this vital role, you will be enabling and participating in the development of predictive models to guide the discovery and optimization of therapeutic proteins. You will be embedded in a technologically diverse team, working with leading biotechnology and machine-learning experts to solve some of the most difficult problems in large-molecule discovery. You will also have the opportunity to write manuscripts, publish them in leading journals, and present data in internal and external settings, including oral and poster presentations at scientific conferences.

Amgen is advancing innovative methods for designing and optimizing protein therapeutics using a combination of experimental and computational techniques. We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to perform bioinformatic analysis and multi omic integration of data generated from an immunogenicity screening platform. The postdoctoral fellow will have two co-mentors, one with expertise in immunology and the other in Machine Learning. This position is part of a Center of Excellence based at Amgen’s site in Burnaby, BC, Canada.

  • Serve as the bioinformatics lead on a collaborative project focused on characterizing induced immune responses in an in vitro immunogenicity model
  • Perform analysis of scRNAseq and proteomics data
  • Perform rational multi omic integration of resulting data
  • Use the relevant data to generate training sets for Machine Learning
  • Play a key role in data collection, model training, and deployment for property prediction
  • The postdoctoral fellow will also receive personalized training in relevant areas of Machine Learning or immunology, as needed.
