In 2018, Kantar launched the Analytics practice, an exciting new area of the business that uses cutting edge technology and solutions to creatively solve client problems for some of the world’s most recognisable brands. The Analytics practice supplements Kantar’s traditional market research services with advanced analytics techniques and technology that pull in data from across the internet; we use combinations of traditional and digital data to help brands understand their consumers, improve their products, and drive growth.

In Kantar Analytics, Principal Consultants play a leading role in the winning and delivery of programmes of work across our portfolio of research, analytics, and optimisation solutions. You will work day-to-day with your director in the development of new business and autonomously to deliver client projects, helping your project teams to extract insights from data, and translate these into actionable advice and strategies for global brands.

This role sits within the segmentation team providing support, consultancy and specialist knowledge on quantitative research methods & statistical analysis, specifically segmentation analysis. The team’s work is spread across structured survey data analytics, social media / digital data analytics, and the fusion of survey and with other data sources. The team is responsible for developing custom solutions utilising a wide range of multivariate techniques, including various types of modelling as well as more specialised market research techniques such as segmentation, market strategy, brand experience and pricing.

The role is based in Central London but currently working remotely. 

Key Outcomes

  • Management and lead in the design of segmentation anaytics studies and delivery of outputs to clients to a high quality and standard of execution.
  • Supporting Kantar Analytics Directors in the UK with business development initiatives.
  • Establishing and nurturing senior client relationships with ownership of specific sales targets and client satisfaction goals within the team.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Identification and resolution of key issues in complex client projects, as well as developing frameworks for problem solving.
  • Playing a leading role in the day-to-day development and mentoring of project members, as well as line management of team members.
  • Sharing and supporting the continual development of intellectual capital, and domain expertise, including production of thought leadership, and innovative contributions to our tools and service offerings.

Capabilities

  • You will have extensive experience undertaking data analysis in a marketing analytics or consumer insights environment.
  • You will have strong understanding of multivariate statistical techniques, (e.g. Factor analysis, cluster analysis, regression analysis, ANOVA, etc.) as well as extensive data analysis skills using statistical software (e.g. SAS / SPSS / R)
  • You will have a proven background in leading and delivery of projects and presentation of complex technical information to a non-technical audience. 
  • You will bring experience in the crafting of unique insights from analysis and synthesis of data, be able to think broadly and strategically around problems and deliver high value solutions to clients.
  • You will have demonstrable sales growth experience, with the ability to manage both organic account development as well as new business development.
  • You will have managed small teams successfully and, ideally, held roles involving line management and/or colleague coaching and development responsibilities.
  • You will have a passion for learning and a strong desire to help others grow with you.
  • A strong academic record is essential with a numerate or analytical degree.

Desirable

  • Specific experience in audience segmentation and profiling research using both traditional and digital research techniques. 
  • Knowledge of digital marketing best practices, particularly around social media as well as organic and paid search.
  • Fluency in additional languages considered an advantage.
